Start with the work

Define the duty cycle and handover points before choosing equipment. The robot works with your team and the site’s existing processes.

Restaurants and cafés

Route checked orders to table-side stops, with staff checking accuracy and unloading.

Buffets and banquets

Plan repeated replenishment and dish transport around crowds and changing event layouts.

Dish return

Separate used-dish pickup from ready-to-serve food, defining containers and tray-cleaning procedures.

Know the model before designing

Model references support assessment, rather than establish stock or a quotation. Confirm the variant, latest documentation and support scope before specification.

Manufacturer-page figures checked 31 Oct 2026, not site measurements. Confirm the variant, latest documentation and operating conditions in the proposal.

Compare against the same task

  • Open trays support convenient loading/unloading; enclosed configurations suit controlled collection. Choose around the service procedure and containers.
  • Compare trays, calling methods, aisle needs and charging coverage rather than advertised maximum runtime alone.

Follow the work, step by step

Select a stage to see how preparation, robot movement and handover fit together. This is an operating concept, not a surveyed map or a capability shared by every model.

Route concept · stops, protected areas and charging are designed around the selected model and site.

Check the order and load

Staff check tables/orders and arrange food within tray limits using the agreed loading method.

Prepare the site and the team

Equipment is one part of the system. Handover points, operating responsibilities and site conditions must be prepared together.

The occupied dining layout

Measure aisles with chairs pulled out and strollers present. Choose stops clear of escape routes and kitchen pickup points that do not obstruct service.

Food, containers and trays

Trial actual containers and weight distribution. Hot food, liquids and tall vessels need containment and equipment-manual review; spill-free operation is not assumed.

Staff workflow

Assign loading, table notification, unloading and dish return. Set sound levels and blocked-route behavior around busy service periods.

From survey to an accepted workflow

A project delivery sequence, not a wiring or machine-configuration manual. Installation and risk assessment require the applicable equipment instructions and qualified personnel.

  1. 01

    Define the task and acceptance

Agree loads, endpoints, operating windows and responsibilities. Define task-cycle and exception criteria before selecting equipment.

  2. 02

    Survey real service periods

Measure occupied layouts, pulled-out chairs, waiting points and escape routes with kitchen and service staff.

  3. 03

    Design routes and interfaces

Specify handovers, waiting points, charging, exclusion zones and job calls. Scope doors, lifts, networking and software interfaces explicitly.

  4. 04

    Prepare the site and configure

Prepare floors, aisles, power and networking for the selected equipment. Qualified installers handle site services; then map the site, assign permissions and configure stations.

  5. 05

    Trial food and peak traffic

Trial containers, multi-table stops, tray return and blocked paths, comparing task cycles with the existing service method.

  6. 06

    Train, hand over and review

Train task start/stop, loading, charging and recovery using the equipment instructions. Hand over layouts, routes, settings, trial results and maintenance arrangements.

Plan purchase or rental as a complete system

Define equipment, attachments, software, interfaces, training, maintenance and support in the proposal. Pricing and contract terms depend on the project.

Put the numbers to work

Compare a people-led workflow with a team supported by robots, and estimate simple payback. Adjust the inputs to your work scope and quotation.

Starting figures are an illustrative cleaning scenario, not selling prices, rental rates or guaranteed returns. Compare equivalent coverage, duty cycles and service quality.

Calculation method and assumptions

Monthly difference = current labor − (remaining labor + operation + rent when renting). Payback in years = deployment plus purchase, if applicable, ÷ monthly difference ÷ 12. Payback requires a positive monthly difference.

Count only genuinely avoidable labor spending. Redeploying staff does not automatically reduce payroll. These are cost savings, not accounting profit. Tax, financing, inflation, resale and the time value of money are excluded. Monthly costs are assumed constant over the selected period.

Before you start

Must guests unload their food?

Choose the service model first. Staff may unload every order or recipients may collect selected items, subject to safety and guest-experience assessment.

What if table layouts change frequently?

Update stops and validate routes after layout changes, with an assigned map owner rather than continuing with unchecked old routes.

How is peak service planned?

Measure trip demand, distance and loading/unloading waits, then trial with real service traffic before sizing the robot fleet and remaining staff.
